Parent & Me Program

October Parent & Me: History Through the Seasons

Bring your preschool-age children to experience St. Louis history by exploring the museum’s exhibits and participating in hands-on activities!  In all Parent & Me sessions, families will move throughout the gallery and classroom spaces at their own pace as they complete activities incorporating touch, movement, smell, sound, art, and more.

For the first time ever, the October 2013 Parent & Me Series will feature recycled art projects

Outdoor activities are planned on some days but are subject to weather.  Activities are appropriate for children ages 2-5.  All classes are held from 10:00-11:30am.  Light snacks will be available.
This is a 4-week series that will feature Currents, Reflections, The 1968 Exhibit, and The 1904 World’s Fair!  Families can register on Thursdays OR Fridays.

Week One 10/3 & 10/4: Winter featuring Seeking St. Louis: Reflections
Play in the snow, pretend to cook a big winter time meal,
and make your very own snow globes!

Week Two 10/10 & 10/11: Spring featuring The 1904 World’s Fair
Pack a picnic, pretend you’re a spring robin
digging for worms, and do some spring cleaning!

Week Three 10/17 & 10/18: Summer featuring The 1968 Exhibit
Explore the new special exhibit to learn about
things that happened in 1968!  Make rockets, play
Olympic games, and create psychedelic artwork!
It’ll be so hot, even the crayons will melt (literally)!

Week Four 10/24 & 10/25: Fall featuring Seeking St. Louis: Currents
Go on a pretend camping trip,
build a fire, paint with leaves, and take a hayride!
Reservations are required, and space is limited.

Registration opens August 15.  Please call 314-454-3161.
